In the movies

June 19.  And it's National Pets in Film Day.  There have been LOADS of films that have had dogs in strarring roles.  I DON'T THINK there has been a PON in a lead role- YET.  There is still time for me.  Mind you, I understand one has to be obedient to star in a movie.  So that could be a challenge.  So let's see how knowledgeable you are with regard to dogs in movies.  What dog breeds starred in the following films:

1.  Turner and Hooch
2. Marley and Me
3.  Lassie (now THAT'S an easy one!!!!)
4.  Beethoven
5.  Air Bud
6.  The Wizard of Oz
7.  The Artist
8.  Rin Tin Tin
9.  Hachi: A Dog's Tale
10. Because of Winn-Dixie
11.  Eight Below (TWO breeds in this film)
12.  The Shaggy Dog

So let's see how you did!
1.  Dogue de Bordeaux
2.  Labrador Retriever
3.  Rough collie
4.  Saint Bernard
5.  Golden Retriever
6.  Cairn terrier
7.  Jack Russell Terrier
8.  German Shepherd.
9.  Akita
10. Berger Picard!!!!
11.  Siberian huskies and malamutes
12.  Old English Sheepdog

The FG is feeling a bit smug as there has been a movie with a Picard.  Mind you - with stardom comes challenges too.  People see a breed and think "I need one of those" without learning about what the breed REALLY is like.  And then people SOME people start breeding them to fill the demand.  And that can cause all kinds of problems.  So PONs are probably better off NOT being in a movie.  Although - when people ask my human what Elroy is - she DOES refer to the movie sometimes.  When she isn't telling them that he is a coyote.

See you at the movies!  Save some popcorn for me.
