Well guess what is happening today?! A DOG SHOW. And both Einstein AND the FG are entered in the beauty pageant. I’m just going along to hang out and watch them go through the grooming torture.
Einstein was SHOCKED on Thursday night when my human called him into the grooming AKA torture room AKA garage. He THOUGHT he was JUST getting a brushing – which took over an hour. Clearly all the styling I have been doing lately resulted in some pretty wicked mats. My human was exhausted from wrestling with him and then she had to give him a bath. Better him than me. The FG didn’t need a bath – he’s a rugged looking guy – so no foo foo scent for him. Well. Maybe SOME foo foo but he doesn’t get the whole bath thing.
The two of them are entered in some kind of “Specialty” for herding breeds. My human couldn’t bear the thought of entering all three of us – and besides – they are both entered in classes I couldn’t be in. The FG is in some kind of Puppy Sweepstakes for dogs 12-18 months and Einstein is in something called Veterans Sweepstakes. Veterans? I never knew he was in the military. Actually, the term Veterans in Dog Show lingo is for dogs 7 years and older. So since Einstein entered the senior class this year, my human decided to drag him out of retirement and put him in a show. He’s not thrilled, but he knows the treats will be good. Of course after my human entered the two of them and when she saw the show list, she realized they were the only examples of their breeds in the Specialty show. So what that means is that when it comes time to go in the ring with all the other breeds in the group, my human would have to show both dogs. At the same time. So THAT won’t work. So in comes Auntie Glenda to the rescue. I think she will show Einstein. He’s pretty easy to show. He’s like a stuffed dog in the ring. He stands and stares at whoever is showing him (usually my human). Mind you…. He COULD also bark. Especially when he sees the FG in the same ring. This could be VERY entertaining….
And I’m just going along for the ride. And of course to record their antics. Should be good. As long as nobody pees on the AstroTurf….
Have a good one. Peace and paws up!
